Overview

Under the Building Control Act, certain buildings are required to undergo Periodic Structural Inspection (PSI) to ensure ongoing structural integrity and public safety.

What Does a PSI Cover?

  • Inspection of structural columns, beams, slabs and walls
  • Assessment of visible cracks, spalling, corrosion and deformation
  • Review of structural drawings and records
  • Recommendations for remedial works where necessary

Who Carries Out the PSI?

Only a Licensed Structural Engineer (LSE) or a Professional Engineer (PE) in the Civil or Structural discipline may carry out a PSI.

Reporting

Upon completion, a detailed inspection report is submitted to BCA. Where defects are identified, our team coordinates closely with building owners on the appropriate remedial strategy.
